Our holiday donation supports Winnipeg’s Bear Clan Patrol
This year, 365 Technologies, on behalf of its clients, is making a holiday donation supporting Winnipeg’s Bear Clan Patrol.
The patrol’s mission is to provide restoration and maintenance of harmony within the community by promoting and providing safety, conflict resolution, mobile witnessing and crime prevention, early response to situations, rides, escorts and referrals, and maintaining a visible presence on the streets.
At the beginning of December, Michael Anderson, our President and CEO, volunteered for a Bear Clan Patrol.
In January, the group will be expanding to a new location at 563 Selkirk Avenue, just down the block from its home at 584 Selkirk Avenue. Read all about it here.
About the Bear Clan Patrol
The Bear Clan Patrol was formed in Winnipeg’s North End in 1992 (there were several years in which the volunteer safety group was on hiatus; they returned in 2015).
“The concept behind the patrol is community people working with the community to provide personal security in the inner city in a non-threatening, non-violent and supportive way.” – Bear Clan Patrol website.
The patrol operates out of Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc. (Ndinawe), located in Winnipeg’s North End, with three, neighborhood patrol meet-ups:
- North End Patrol
- West End Patrol
- West Broadway Patrol
There are two ways you can help the Bear Clan Patrol in its mission:
- Donate to the cause.
- Volunteer to take part in a patrol. There’s no need to register. Just drop in during the meet-up times listed on the website.
